Thriving Seniors: Grief, Loss, and Bereavement
In this presentation we will explore the landscape of loss and the spectrum of grief emotions, i.e. sadness, anger, yearning, loneliness and guilt.
Grieving is a very human, natural and holistic experience. We will explore how it affects us mentally, physically, socially, spiritually and creatively and how we can recognize what areas need attention. We will look at different grieving styles; that there is no one or right way to grieve; and no chronological time in which one goes through the process.
Losing someone can affect our sense of self, and the role we had in their life. We will look at how we can adapt to a new way of being in the world without this person.
