Join us for the community kitchen as we come together to celebrate Purim and Nowruz. Let’s cook and connect. No culinary experience is necessary, and you get to bring home what you make!
Please note:
- Lunch will not be served but there will be coffee, tea and snacks following the cooking.
- The JFS Kitchen is a BCK Certified Parve space, all food prepared will be vegetarian (eggs may be used but no dairy).

Advance Planning can help ensure your wishes will be respected if you were to become incapable and when you pass away. This introductory presentation shares information about how to plan for your future with advance planning tools such as joint bank accounts, wills, powers of attorney, and representation agreements. We also discuss potential misuse of these tools and resources for further assistance.

This presentation discusses abuse and neglect of older adults, types of abuse and indicators, risk factors, and strategies to deal with abuse including the importance of staying connected with others. Several resources are introduced that can assist older adults and concerned third parties in situations of elder abuse.
Presenter: LINDA YAUK started as a volunteer with Seniors First BC and joined their Public Education & Outreach team in 2023. She has a background in education, social work and gerontology, and is passionate about sharing information about issues impacting the safety and well-being of older adults.
