This is an open drop-in event to discuss housing and answer questions. This event is open to all and everyone is welcome to share resources!

Virtual drop-ins are held over Zoom and you are welcome to come and go as you please.

Excavate & Express: Intergenerational Trauma & the Wisdom of Our Ancestors is a six-week heart-filled online workshop that explores intergenerational trauma and healing through writing and conversation. In this offering, we will gather online in a small group, co-create a supportive space together, use mindfulness and somatic exercises to ground our bodies, and writing prompts to reveal the stories we hold. We will write, discuss, and share on topics including grief and love, family stories, writing into the unknown, and the gifts of our ancestors.

No writing experience is needed to join – this is a warm, friendly, and gentle class. Sharing your writing is always a choice and is not required to participate in this workshop.

Come and join us for our free monthly coffee get-together at the JFS Kitchen. With sunset being so early over the winter months, we will hold the monthly Coffee Klatch from 12-1:30pm and include lunch. Space is limited and registration is required!

Join us for Food Skills For Families, a 6-session program designed to bring community members together in The Kitchen. Learn new recipes, enjoy nutritious meals, and share fun experience with others in a supportive environment.

Please note: To make the most out of the experience, it is important to attend all six classes. We kindly ask for your commitment to all six sessions so that you can enjoy the full journey and benefit from everything we have planned for you.

Lunch will not be served but the sessions will include coffee, tea, and snacks.

The New and Upcoming Housing covers a couple of new buildings in Vancouver and shows a few resources about where to find new building projects and renovations to built housing in and around Vancouver.

We’re thrilled to invite all Israeli newcomers to join our Community Kitchen! Come and connect with fellow newcomers as we cook a delicious meal together, featuring Butternut Squash Soup and Focaccia Bread. It’s a great opportunity to share stories, build connections, and enjoy the comfort of homemade food in a welcoming space. Space is limited so register today!!

In the spirit of healing and strength, JFS, with support from United Way BC, introduces “The Living Room” support groups. This initiative serves the Jewish community, helping members to openly discuss and heal from the impacts of antisemitism.

In these free sessions, guided by experienced counsellors, participants share stories, develop vital coping skills, and build lasting bonds, creating a network of support that diminishes fear and combats antisemitism together.

This circle is open to everyone. This will be a facilitated circle with a start and end time and light refreshments.

Free. Pre-registration is required. RSVP online.

If you have an application you want proofread feel free to send it along and I will give you constructive feedback and answer any questions. If you are searching for housing and have no idea where to start we can do a short needs assessment and craft a plan to guide your housing search based on your needs.

The Rabbinical Association of Vancouver and Jewish Federation invite you to come together as a community for a Memorial service in honour of the victims of October 7th. We come together in pain for all the losses and in hope for healing and the return of the remaining hostages.

Throughout and after the ceremony, there will be a Living Room circle where people can rest and engage with registered counsellors. We aim to have Hebrew, Russian, and Ukrainian facilitators at this event. This will be a more open circle with participants joining or breaking off into smaller groups as needed.
